Dear PRS Members and Community, I am honored to step into the role of President of Pacific Rim Sculptors and excited to begin this next chapter with all of you. It’s a privilege to lead this dynamic, diverse, and deeply creative community of over 150 sculptors who continually redefine what sculpture can be. I’m also delighted to introduce Susan Amorde as our newly elected Vice President. Many of you already know Susan as a passionate advocate for expanding our vision into Southern California and a committed voice in our sculpture community. Susan and I will be working closely with key officers: Cameron Callahan, Treasurer, and Briona Hendren, Operations Manager and Secretary. Cameron is an experienced bank officer with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in banking software and familiarity with regulations. Cameron will keep our organization financially on track. Briona, who serves both as our Secretary and Operations Manager, is the heartbeat of our organization—her attention to detail, organizational acumen, and tireless dedication keep us moving forward with clarity and grace. As a unified team, we are focused on nurturing a thriving, responsive, and forward-looking community. I also wish to acknowledge Barry Beach, our President Emeritus, whose invaluable contributions laid the foundation for this next phase. Barry brought a calm, kind, and generous spirit to his leadership, shepherding the organization into a period of financial stability and membership growth. Under his guidance, we refreshed our website and modernized our communications—updates that have helped us stay connected and relevant in an ever-shifting cultural landscape. It is from this strong base that we are able to move forward with confidence and vision. Thank you so much, Barry! Our goals this year are to strengthen member engagement, connect with young sculptors, expand opportunities for exhibitions and visibility, and continue fostering dialogue around sculpture as a vital contemporary art form. We recognize and celebrate the incredible diversity of practices, materials, and approaches within our membership—from traditional to experimental, monumental to ephemeral. This organization is powered by you—your ideas, your generosity, and your creative force. In the coming weeks, we’ll be reaching out with updates, calls for participation, and opportunities to connect. We want to hear from you: what you hope to see from Pacific Rim Sculptors, and how we can support your work and amplify your voice. Thank you for your continued commitment to this vibrant and evolving community. Susan and I, along with Cameron and Briona, are honored to serve you and excited to shape the future of Pacific Rim Sculptors—together. Warmly, Catherine Daley President, Pacific Rim Sculptors |

J. Livingston has installed a striking sculptural work titled gnomon for Gina in the courtyard of the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley, on view through the end of October.
While a gnomon traditionally casts a shadow to tell time, Livingston’s piece subverts that function, focusing instead on light, presence, and homage. The work honors Gina Pane, a pioneering Italian/French body artist active in the 1960s–1980s and considered a forerunner to artists like Marina Abramovic.
Installed in full southern exposure, the sculpture casts elegant and shifting shadows—best viewed between 9 AM and 2 PM on clear days.

Barry Beach & Catherine DaleyPRS members Barry Beach and Catherine Daley are featured in My World In Blue, a juried group exhibition at the Petaluma Art Center exploring the emotional, symbolic, and sensory power of the color blue. Blue is reminiscent of the summer season, it evokes the tranquility of the sea, the vast horizons of the sky, and the still hours before dawn. Often representing serenity and stability, yet also sadness and longing, blue is a color of polarities and deep emotional resonance. This exhibition gathers visual works that reflect on those layered meanings. Through painting, photography, collage, and mixed media, artists delve into the symbolic and expressive range of this multifaceted hue. Margarite Elliot, Catherine Daley, & Renee owenNCWCA presents Mendings & Marvels, a members-only exhibition. This theme centers around the reuse and repurposing of materials of any kind, even the reimagining of an older artwork. There is a profound and layered sensibility to artwork that reuses, repurposes, salvages, and reimagines materials, found objects, or previous projects. Artists often reflect their ability to mend and their desire to remake their emotions or experiences into the artworks they create. Mending or remaking ideas or objects also imbue them with a new life. It’s a mystical, alchemical process that has far-reaching results.
